We met in October, 2018 in Bushwick. Sophie had just moved to Brooklyn and figured why not see what New York Tinder had to offer? đ She quickly decided it was not for her, but sent her number to the cute and friendly boy who had gone to University College Cork (where she studied abroad for a semester in college), before dramatically deleting the app.
Having first moved to New York from Cork via Dublin in 2017, Rory was just back in the city after recovering from knee surgery at his home away from home with extended family on Long Island. He was intrigued by the not-so-touristy touristy Ireland photos on Sophieâs profile (thank you photographer Maya Moverman!) and the dramatic app deleting.
Our first date was at a Boston themed bar (RIP Darlings) where we bonded over both having been born in the greater Boston area (though Cambridge is its own city!!!) and college days in Cork City. The Red Sox were playingâcharacteristically, Sophie did not pay attention. Uncharacteristically, Rory didnât either.
Weâre so grateful to all of our loved ones for being part of our life and our story over these past six years. We canât wait to celebrate with you!
đ„The day is here!đ„

Coffee & Doughnuts at Overbrook 11am: Come say goodbye before you head out!
This will be a lowkey, informal New England farm house summer camp-esque celebration! The ground will be uneven and grassy (high heels discouraged!) New England weather is a fickle beastâit may be hot and sunny or cold and rainyâbring layers! Wear something that makes you feel festive, but that you feel comfortable in, preferably something you already own or borrow (though if you need an excuse to get something new be our guest đ)
If you are flying in, the easiest route is to arrive at Logan airport and rent a car to drive the 1 hour and 15 minutes to Bourne. There will be ample parking at Overbrook, but Uber and Lyfts are also plentiful if you would like to taxi from your accommodation. You can also take a train or bus from Boston out to Bourne/Buzzards Bay/Wareham, and there will be lots of folks heading from that direction so carpooling may be an option. Please be in touch!
We will be at the base of Cape Cod, right before the bridge. There are numerous hotels, motels, inns, & AirBnbs in the area, a quick drive (or Uber ride) away! Suggestions from Overbrook below. There is also limited capacity for camping on the property, please reach out if you are interested in this!
Weâd love to invite everyone to bring a friend or date (and we want to meet/spend time with your special someones!) but unfortunately have a strict venue capacity and cannot accommodate plus ones by default. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sadly we cannot accommodate kids, as much as we would love them all to join đ
